Oktoberfest
from every angle.

How we covered Oktoberfest at Upper Depot Brewing Co. in about four hours: drone, photos, a commercial and social reels, all from one shoot.

Oktoberfest at Upper Depot Brewing Co. in Hudson, NY, covered by Evolved Media

Upper Depot Brewing Co. in Hudson threw Oktoberfest this fall: a live band on stage in front of the depot, tents down the street, steins getting poured and a crowd that filled the block. They did not want a few phone pictures. They wanted the whole day captured, from the air and from the ground, and they wanted it to look as good as it felt. We had about four hours.

What we shot

  • Drone. Overheads of the street party and the brewery, the shots that show how big the day really was.
  • Photos. The band, the pours, the crowd and the building, from the first set until dusk.
  • A commercial. A polished piece the brewery can use to promote its next event.
  • Social reels. Short vertical edits made for Instagram and TikTok.

How four hours turned into all of it

It comes down to planning and teamwork, not rushing. We went in knowing the moments that mattered: the band, the pours, the crowd at its biggest and the light at the end of the day. The drone went up when the street was full. Photos and video ran the rest of the time, so every hour fed the photo set, the commercial and the reels at once.

We covered the entire band and the entire event while the brewery ran Oktoberfest. They focused on their guests. We worked around it.

Why an event is worth filming right

An event happens once. Good footage keeps working long after the tents come down: next year's promotion, the website, the Google listing and months of posts. One afternoon of real coverage gives a business a library it keeps using.

That is the idea behind everything we make. Content that looks great, with one job: bringing customers back through the door.
